Higher Federal Teaching and Research Institute for Agriculture Raumberg-Gumpenstein
High-quality teaching and research form the cornerstone of HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein. In research, innovative experimental facilities and laboratories are utilized. Forward-looking, practice-relevant research projects are primarily conducted in cooperation with national and international organizations.
The research activities at HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein provide significant impetus for sustainable management in rural areas. An important focus is climate impact research. A central goal is to quickly and efficiently disseminate the knowledge gained to all target groups, including the scientific community, policymakers, advisors, teachers, companies, and especially agricultural enterprises.
Research is conducted in the institutes for Livestock Research, Crop Production and Cultural Landscapes, Animal Welfare and Health, as well as Organic Farming and Livestock Biodiversity.
To represent the diverse soil and climate conditions across Austria, HBLFA maintains permanent branch offices in Wels-Thalheim, Lambach-Stadl-Paura, Admont, Oberalm near Hallein (LFS Winklhof), Piber, and Kobenz near Knittelfeld. The entire research operation employs nearly 250 people.
