Circular Economy Task Force
The Circular Economy Task Force (TFCE) was established as an advisory body pursuant to Section 8 of the Federal Ministries Act 2023 and serves as the central cross-ministerial advisory body for promoting and further developing the Austrian circular economy, as well as for linking it with bioeconomy and industrial policy.
It brings together representatives from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Climate and Environmental Protection, Regions and Water Management (BMLUK), the Federal Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism (BMWET), the Federal Ministry for Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure (BMIMI), the Federal Ministry for Women, Science and Research (BMWFW), the Federal Ministry of Education and Social Affairs, as well as further experts from business, academia and civil society.

The Task Force advises the Federal Ministries for Agriculture and Forestry, Climate and Environmental Protection, Regions and Water Management (BMLUK) and for Economy, Energy and Tourism (BMWET), among other things, on removing structural barriers and developing market-effective framework conditions.
This is carried out in accordance with the Government Programme 2024–2029 and the new Austrian Industrial Strategy 2035 and serves to accelerate the transformation towards a competitive, resilient and resource-efficient economy. To this end, the Circular Economy Task Force prepares recommendations, discussion papers and comments in regular exchange with numerous other business representatives.
