Women, forest, and wood – a sustainable relationship.

The Forestry Women

Women are increasingly working in the forestry and timber industry: as forest owners or farm successors, in forestry enterprises, sawmills, and more. However, many women still hesitate to engage in this sector because it is considered a male-dominated field. The association is a network of committed women (and men) from the forestry and timber industry. In addition to traditional networking, its activities include forestry events as well as cultural and sports activities. The aim is to promote Forestry Women for forest & wood.

Founded in 2003

The association now has over 140 members and also connects women in forestry with other spheres of life. The exchange of opinions and experiences across national borders is particularly important. The members come from a wide variety of backgrounds and have diverse professional and personal experiences.

Making women visible

The Forestry Women association aims to highlight the achievements and activities of women in the forestry and timber industry and to make these women visible, both within the professional community and to the non-forestry public. Through this role-model effect, for example, female forest owners who have previously been hesitant about the forestry world are encouraged to step out from under the “male umbrella.” Not only the women themselves benefit from this positive impact, but also our forests and the entire forestry and timber sector.

Active networking

Forestry Women connect women and men who have already successfully established themselves in the forestry and timber industry, as well as women whose passion for forest and wood is only just beginning to grow.
