The prevention includes all preventive measures to avert forest fires, the intervention comprises all means and includes combating events and the management is subdivided into damage management and post-disaster recovery. Therefore, the information about a potential forest fire risk all preventive measures and the correct behaviour in case of drought is of special importance.

Measures to prevent forest fires, such as a smoking ban or a ban on lighting fires, are implemented by local authorities as needed. These bans and notices are announced by the authorities in media such as local newspapers. Forest owners post signs indicating such bans. A review of the GSA forest fire risk map is also helpful.

It is important to get informed and to behave cautiously and carefully when staying in or beside forests. Only in this way disastrous fires in dry areas can be prevented.
