The new website gruenechemieoesterreich.at provides information on Austrian activities in the field of green chemistry in the fields of education, research and business and – as a service for interested parties – refers to future events and literature for further reading.

The Federal Ministry of Environment and the Federal Environment Agency have been working intensively on the topic of green chemistry for almost two years. This approach is understood as a holistic approach that integrates the concept of sustainability into chemical thinking – from the design of new substances to the production, processing, and use of chemicals, as well as waste disposal.

Following the establishment of the Green Chemistry Expert Dialogue as a series of events for the interested public and the founding of the Green Chemistry Platform as a panel of experts, which, among other things, develops a program on green chemistry, the launch of the website has now created a broad information and communication platform!

The modern design offers content for a wide range of target groups: In addition to answering the question "What is Green Chemistry?", it draws attention to activities in Austria, and presents the expert dialogue and the platform with its objectives and work program. Highlights include initiatives in the education sector, schools, and tertiary education, as well as current research projects. A separate section on Green Chemistry in Business is currently being developed. Announcements of future national and international events facilitate an overview, and references to important literature provide further reading for all interested parties.
