I-PEPs: A New Set of Indicators for Steering Decarbonisation
Current: Public consultation of the methodology standard open until 10 August 2025
With the development of I-PEPs (Indicators for Portfolio-weighted Emission Performances), the Green Finance Alliance has introduced a new generation of metrics to support the decarbonization of financial portfolios. These indicators enable financial companies to steer their GHG emissions trajectory of their core business operations.
This innovative set of indicators covers a wide range of the financial sector, with tailored metrics for:
- Underwriting portfolios
- Investment portfolios
- Lendig portfolios
Despite its broad range of applications, I-PEPs is based on a uniform methodological foundation, allowing for easy scalability across various portfolio types.
Due to the low number of required input factors, I-PEPs are less susceptible to unintended external influences on emission trends. The reduced date requirements can help lower both personnel and financial burdens, freeing up resources for active portfolio management.
