Capacity labelling of portable secondary (rechargeable) batteries

Regulation establishing rules as regards capacity labelling of portable secondary (rechargeable) batteries and automotive batteries. On 29 November 2010, the Commission adopted a regulation establishing rules as regards capacity labelling of portable secondary (rechargeable) batteries and automotive batteries. This regulation supplements the provision of Section 6 of the Austrian Batteries Ordinance (“Batterienverordnung”) and applies directly, i.e. separate implementation in the Member States is not required.

Regulation (EU) 2017/997 amending the hazard property HP 14 "ecotoxic"

Regulation (EU) 2017/997 amending the hazard property HP 14 "ecotoxic" standardised EU-wide criteria for the hazard property HP 14. This Regulation has applied directly from 5 July 2018, i.e. no further implementation measures by the Austrian legislator are required and it takes precedence over other Austrian provisions.

This Regulation does not provide for standardised EU-wide test methods for the hazard property HP 14 (ecotoxic), which means that national specifications are required. Therefore, the Federal Ministry has prepared a guideline for the assessment of the hazard property HP 14 “ecotoxic”, which represents the state of the art in Austria with regard to HP 14 and is intended to assist the waste owner in assigning waste to a waste type (code number) taking into account HP 14.
