The implementation of selected measures to strengthen organic agriculture in Austria was the focus of a study funded by the Ministry of Agriculture and conducted by FiBL. This study built on the FiBL study “Strengthening Organic Agriculture in Austria by 2030.”

The project “Future Organic 2030” worked on four work packages (WP):

  • WP 1: Measures to strengthen networking between research, advisory services, and education in organic agriculture through increased exchange among the involved stakeholders;
  • WP 2: Development of a concept for nutrition education on organic foods for apprentices in the food retail sector (LEH), in cooperation with the retail sector;
  • WP 3: Development of a concept and pilot implementation to increase the share of organic products in public catering, based on a selected federal institution;
  • WP 4: Implementation of a legally binding organic certification in gastronomy and out-of-home catering by connecting key stakeholders through a moderated process.
