The vision of the Federal Government is the transformation of the Austrian economy and society into a climate-neutral, sustainable circular economy by 2050.

In order to put this vision into practice and to put Austria on the path to a sustainable and circular society, the Austrian Circular Economy Strategy was developed, and adopted by the Austrian Federal Government in December 2022 under the leadership of the Environment Ministry together with numerous actors from industry, science, administration and civil society the Austrian Circular Economy Strategy was developed and adopted by the Austrian Federal Government in December 2022.
