Renewable Energy 2018

Climate change is the biggest challenge of the 21st century. Austria has set itself ambitious goals for climate and environment protection. The Climate and Energy Strategy of the Austrian Government #mission2030 shall be the end of the fossil era. The key to success is decarbonizing the economy and energy systems. Austria intends to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 by 36 percent compared to 2005 and to produce 100 percent of electricity from renewable sources. These goals will be achieved by a combination of efficient use of all energies, a rising share of renewable energy production and targeted support of innovative technologies.
