Climate-related analysis of the Austrian financial market: Synthesis report
The European Union, and thus Austria, have set themselves the goal of becoming climate neutral and exploiting the economic opportunities offered by this transformation. The necessary modernization of the economic system requires considerable investment. This means that capital flows must be directed specifically towards low-emission and resilient economic sectors. In line with the Paris Agreement, it is essential to align financial flows with climate goals.
Regular monitoring of financial flows plays an important role in systematically assessing the alignment of the Austrian financial sector's financial flows with national and European climate and environmental goals. Monitoring also highlights transition risks.
This publication is part of a four-part analysis of the Austrian financial market conducted by the Federal Environment Agency on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Climate.
The synthesis report is available in English, the reports of the three detailed modules are only available in German.
